Missions Conference 2020

61 Isaiah Ministries is hosting a missions conference and fundraiser on January, 4th from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm, in DeSoto, Texas. This event is free and will be a time where
you can learn about missions in general, missions in Honduras, hear an update from 61 Isaiah, and take part in contributing financially. For many, missions is a one time event, but we believe missions is a journey that is more than
a one week adventure. Missions is a life journey. Come learn, celebrate,
pray, eat together, and see what this journey is all about. All you
have to do is RSVP.

Sessions and Descriptions

Planning Your Trip: Travel, hotels, food, insurance, and schedules— we’ve got you covered! Learn more about effectively planning your church’s mission trip to Honduras or wherever you go. We will discuss our planning process and provide tips for mission team members. We will be introducing our new registration process as well as having a time for mission trip leaders and members to ask questions and share their own experiences in planning mission trips.

Know Your Culture: Learn that being different isn’t always bad or good, it’s just different. We invite you to look at differences between North American and Honduran cultures and discuss the strengths and weaknesses of each as well as learn various strategies to be adaptable in any culture. On any mission trip, knowing the culture is a vital key for successful mission work.

How to Share the Gospel and Your Testimony:
Missions cannot be missions without the gospel. Are your mission trips gospel centered? Come learn how to make your next mission trip gospel focused. Learn what constitutes the gospel, how to share the gospel, and how to share your testimony.

Team Prep:
Preparing for a mission trip is more than logistics. It’s important for teams to prepare spiritually before coming. Whether you are the mission team leader or a mission team member, all are welcomed to learn how to be ready and equipped to confidently minister and walk with others.

“Walk with Me” Model:
“Walk with Us” is the motto of 61 Isaiah Ministries. However, it is more than a motto, it is a mission strategy. Come learn the steps in the “Walk with Me” Model and how to use those steps to identify what you need to do on your next mission trip and how to best walk with people throughout their journey with Christ.

Homeward Bound:
Missions, rather being missional, is more than a one week activity, it is a lifestyle. This session gives you practical ways take what you have learned and experienced during your mission trip back home so that you can continue walking with people no matter your location.

iGo Parent Meeting:
This session will be informational and a Q&A time for parents and students attending Super Summer Global Honduras. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, we are here to help!

Maximizing Impact:
During your mission trip you are going to encounter a variety of needs. Everyone has physical, emotional, economical, relational, and spiritual needs. It’s hard to know the right way to help others or when the time is right to help. This session will discuss and help you brainstorm how to responsibly meet the needs of those you encounter on a mission trip.

Pray for Honduras:
This time is strictly for prayer over the country of Honduras. We have a passion for this country and we know you do too. Join us in lifting it up in prayer.

***6 of the sessions will be repeated while 3 will only be offered once.***
